I know it is a bit early to say that it's getting to the end of the year, but at least I could say that it's time to start worring about general housecleaning. Honestly, I hate cleanup,especially 'a fan'.

I don't like to put off the evil hour before anything else. Then I decided to clean a fan at first. As you've known that the fan is hard to clean,but mine is easy to clean up because that is a stainless steel appliance.

It took around 30minutes to finish.

Have a look at the fan.
Beautiful,isn't it?

I used this opportunity to clean around the cooking stove
and the counter space.

It was a refreshing change of pace.

年末が近づいて来たと言うにはまだほんの少し早いことぐらいは
わかっているが、大掃除のことが少し気になり始めた。　

本当を言うと、その大掃除とやら、特に換気扇の掃除が大嫌い。　
嫌なことを先へ延ばすのはもっと嫌いだから、
まず始めに換気扇の掃除をすることに決めた。　

換気扇の掃除は思っている以上に結構やっかいだ。　
でもありがたいことにこの換気扇はステンレス製なので意外と簡単。　

終了まで約３０分。　
どうだろう？　きれいになっただろうか？　
ついでに調理用コンロと台所回りをきれいにした。　

いい気分転換、さっぱりした。　

As Charlie went to Melbourne,
and brought back these animals carved in wood for souvenir.
Let me tell you six of them.

The first pic shows---
Kangaroo-There are 47 species of kangaroo in Australia rnging in height from 23cm to 2.5cm. The most common are the Grey and the Red Kangaroo. A mature "Roo" weights about 65kg, runs at close to 50kph and will jump 9m in a bound. Female kangaroos reproduce once per year. A young Kangaroo is called a Joey.

Koala-Lives in the coastal regions of Eastern Australia. They feed very selectively on Eucalyptus leaves and live to about 20 years. Female Koalas reproduce biannually, the young lives in her pouch for 6 months and then clings to her back until it is weaned.

The second pic shows---
Echidna-Also known as the Spiny Eater lives in most part of Australia and ranges from 35 to 53cm in length. st sharp spines are for protection it can roll itself into a ball or dig straitht down and bury itself. Echindna's are mammals and live from 30 to 50 years.

Wombat-There are two species of this marsupial in Australia. They range in size from 70cm to 1.2m. Wombats are nocturnal and live in a burrow up to 30m long. They are herbivores. The female wombat reproduces annually.

And the last pic shows---
Platypus-About 60cm long. It has a fur coat, a duck bill rubbery anout and web like feet. It eats its body weight in food daily. Platypii are found in waterways throughout Eastern Australia and Tasmania and they live in burrows above the waterline. A mammal, like the Echidna a platypus lays eggs and feeds her young milk.

Little Penguin-(Fairy Penguin) are the smallest penguins in the world. They are only 33cm tall and live and breed off Phillip Island in Victoria. They swim between 15 & 50km per day come in to nest at twilight. Little Penguins couple for life.

How do you think those animals in Australia?
I think they are all our beloved neighbors.

カンガルー－身長２３ｃｍから２．５ｍまでの４７種のカンガルーがオーストラリアには分布している。　最も有名なのは灰色と赤色カンガルーだ。　成人になると体重は約６５ｋｇになり、時速５０ｋｍで走り、９ｍはジャンプするようになる。　メスのカンガルーは年１回出産する。　カンガルーの幼児は、「ジョーイ」と呼ばれる。

コアラ－オーストラリア東部の沿岸水域に生息している。　選び抜かれたユーカリの葉を餌とし育ち、生息期間は約２０年である。　メスのコアラは年２回出産し、生後６ヶ月まではお腹の袋の中で成長する。　その後、離乳するまで背中にしがみついて育つ。

ハリモグラ－トゲのある蟻喰いとして知られているハリモグラは身長３５～５３ｃｍ。　尖ったトゲにより丸まると身を守ることができ、真っ直ぐ地中を掘り進み、隠れることもできる。　ハリモグラは哺乳類で寿命は３０～５０年である。

ウオンバット－オーストラリアには２種類の有袋動物が存在する。　７０ｃｍ～１．２ｍの大きさで夜行性である。３０ｍもの長さの穴を掘って潜伏している。　草食動物でメスのウオンバットは年１回出産する。

かものはし－身長は約６０ｃｍ。　毛皮があり、弾力のある付き出た鼻と愛のような水かきがある。　毎日体重と同じくらいの重さの食べ物を食べる。　東部オーストラリアとタスマニア一帯の水辺にカモノハシの生息跡が見受けられる。　彼らは水辺にそって穴を掘って暮らしている。　ハリモグラのような哺乳類だが、かものはしは卵を産み、初期母乳を与える。

ペンギン－（コビトペンギン）は世界で一番小さいペンギンである。　身長わずか３３ｃｍでヴィクトリアのフィリップ島で繁殖をしている。　夕暮れまでに日に１５～５０ｋｍ泳ぎ、巣に戻る。　生涯一対をなしている。

オーストラリアのこれら動物たちのことをどう思いますか？
私は彼らもまた私たちの愛すべき隣人達だと思うのですが・・・

I've baked it almost every once or twice a week.

今日、１０月２日はスティングの５５回目の誕生日.
そうなんだ！
彼はもう５５歳なのね。　信じられない。。。

りんごの美味しい季節になってきました。
近所のスーパーで、津軽リンゴ１個１００円でした。
いよいよ焼き菓子の季節到来です。
秋が深まり次第に寒くなれば、
家の中ではオーブンがますます活躍し始めます。

甘い香りを漂わせて、
今日は十八番のアップルトルテ登場です。
一番シンプルな配合だから、誰にでも作れます。

トッピングはリンゴでなくても大丈夫。
果物（洋なし・黄桃やパイナップルの缶詰、バナナ）
ドライフルーツ（ブドウやイチジク、プルーンやアプリコット）
ナッツ類（アーモンドスライス、クルミ、ピーカンナッツ）

【材　料】　トルテ型２１ｃｍ1台分
（あるいは１８～２０cmデコ型）
バター（有塩）　１５０ｇ
砂　糖 １２０ｇ
全　卵　L２個（１２０ｇ位）
薄力粉　１２０ｇ
アーモンドパウダー ３０ｇ
（ローストする。なければ薄力粉で代用）
リンゴ　１個（酸味のあるもの）

【トッピング】
アプリコットジャム　適宜（あるいは、粉砂糖を振る）

【作り方】
オーブンを１６０～１７０℃に予熱する。トルテ型に敷き紙をする。
バターを攪拌し、クリーム状にする。
砂糖を２～３回に分けて加え、白っぽくなるまでよく混ぜる。
ほぐした卵を分離しないように、少しずつ加え混ぜる。
あらかじめふるった薄力粉とアーモンドパウダーをさっくり混ぜる。
敷き紙をした型に中央を少し凹ますように生地を入れる。
くし形に切ったりんごを生地の上に均等に並べる。
予熱したオーブンで４５分焼成。
焼成後敷き紙ごと型から外し、熱いうちにジャムを塗る。

写真はジャムを塗り終えた焼成後のタルトです。
生地が冷めていたら、ジャムを熱くして塗るといいです。
ジャムはつや出しの為に塗りますから、
冷めるとベタつかなくなります。

そのままより、一層美味しそうです。
つや出し用のナパージュを使ってもかまいません。

私はいつも１２等分に切り分けます。
少し小さめですが、
気分に応じてホイップクリームの６分立てを添えたり、
ベリーなどの果物を添えるのでちょうどいいと思います。

冷蔵庫で１週間は充分楽しめます。
冷凍保存ももちろんできます。
冷凍生地をアイスクリームといっしょに
いただいてもおいしいです。
これからは暖かい部屋でぜひお試し下さい。

食欲のない時はタルト一切れと熱い牛乳をフゥ～ッとしながらいただきます。
甘いと思えば、生レモンをギュッ！と絞ります。

パールで有名なあのミキモトに
こんな華奢なカトラリーがあります。
フォションのアップルティー（私はこれが大好きなのです）と
いっしょに、ちょっとカフェ気分・・・

At the off-season hotel, there are few hotel stuffs
who have nothing to do in particular.
Not only them but me have nothing to do
and just pick up on the atomosphere of peace.

What I like most in the exotic atmosphere
of a southern land is touching the breeze
on my bare shoulders and arms while
lounging and lie down on a sofa.

I have a catnap for a brief while...

I happen to have a glance at an exhibit case,
I find a man who are having a nap like me
in the case with an important heritage.

シーズンオフのホテルでは、徒然草に
「道に向かふ時、さはりなく所作なくて、心身ながくしずかなり」
とあるように、ほとんどのホテルスタッフは所作なさげにしている。

彼らだけではなく私も特にすることもなく、穏やかな雰囲気に浸っているだけだ。　
南国の過ごし方で一番気に入っているのは、
ロビーを吹き抜ける風をソファーに座ったり、横になったりして露出した肩や腕に感じることだ。　

現世と幻覚との狭間を行きつ戻りつ、しばしの時間をなすがままに委ねる。　
ふと側に目をやれば、誰のいたずらか、大切な遺産と共に陳列棚の中で終日のたりのたりかな・・・だ。

As I had filled out a questionaire at a bank for a long time ago,I got a CD purchasing ticket which was almost forgotten.
I used the ticket and got my hand on "STING" without question.

I have always had eye for his album for quite a while.
Have a cup of coffee near the evening
and listen to STING every day.

随分前に銀行のアンケートに答えたら、忘れた頃にCD購入券が送られてきた。　
迷わず『STING』。

夕方近くにコーヒーを入れて毎日STING。

私も焼きました。

粉量2.5kg・・・ふぅ～、満足、満足。
＊レーズンたっぷりの食パン ３本
＊粒あん入りのあんパン ２３個
＊レーズンバンズ ７個
＊ぬれ甘納豆入りバンズ １２個
＊３種類のチーズ入りバンズ １２個

秋は温度も湿度もパン作りにちょうどいいです。
焼いたパンのほとんどは段ボールに詰めました。
宅急便で今頃は茨城を目指しています。
おいしい葡萄をいただいたお礼に私も手作りのお返しです。

それから、いつもお野菜をいただく知人に少し持って行きました。
２～３日分を残して、後は冷凍です。
添加物を一切使用していないので（当たり前ですが）、おいしさを保つ為には冷凍するしかないです。

身を粉にして働くとはこのことかしらン

About insurance of overseas travel

As I was carried into the hospital by food intoxication
on Sep.10th in Bangkok, and then insuarance cost
was payed that I've applyed for the cost to the
company(AIU Insuarance Co.) after homecoming.

I have been covered against foreign voyage
in every time but have never used it till this time.

I downloaded the application form from their website so that it was a pretty simple proceeding more than I thought. If I had gone to hospital with my passport and insuarance policy, that was much more simple that I hadn't have to do such a thing.

海外渡航保険

９月１０日にバンコクで病院(食中毒）に行き、帰国後申請していた保険料が支払われた。
今まで何度も海外渡航保険はかけていたが、実際に手にしたのは初めてだった。
申請用紙はホームページからダウンロードし、手続きはいたって簡単だった。
最も病院に行った際、パスポートと保険証券を持参していたら、こんなことはしなくてもよかったのだ。

I took this pic at the chinese reataurant
in Dusit Thani Hotel in Bangkok.

Red is one of the passionate colors,I think.
There happened to be the same color bottles I found
at the Expo which was held last week.

Please take a glance an another pic.
See,those are smaller bottles than the first pic but they are all red.

I think it's a kind of a gimmick and thus it plays an important role in attracting guests.

バンコクのデュシタニホテルの中華レストランで撮った写真だ。　
赤い色は情熱をかき立てる色だと思う。　

偶然にも先週行ったエキスポの展示場で
同じ赤色の瓶を見つけた。
もう一枚の写真がそれだ。　
上の写真に比べると小さな瓶だがご覧のように全て真っ赤だ。

赤い色を使うのは人目を引くPR戦術で、結果として集客に繋がる重要な要素であると思う。

《　カフェ・ラ・テの続き　》

写真を撮ったのだけど・・・手振れしたのでぼけてしまった。
カフェ・ラ・テに描かれたアシカの可愛さがわかるかなぁ・・・。

She was sleeping in the submarin tunnel
at Shinagawa Aqua Studium and as if was waiting for me.

She has a thin saw-like snout and is subtly cute,isn't she?
The Shark and Ray Submarine Tunnel ,
which we can see almost every aquariums,
where I feel as if I am walking in the sea.

I've never ever seen such a ray asleep above my head.
The sun shines through a skylight
and not a ray wants to drip off to sleep.

I have been satisfied with seeing Penguins
at Osaka Aquarium before,
but even how many times I have seen them,
I still think their figures are artificial-looking.

When they walk,when they dive into water,
when they hold out both arms,
every figures look like a sort of spring toys.

There was also a sunfish who was popular
because of her large body and leisurely mood.
But she looked tired.
How mysterious appearance she has !

I soaked in the fun atmosphere
of being a kid again at the Dolphin Pool.
I abandoned taking photos in favor of
enjoying the dynamic performance of the dolphins.

I suppose an Aquarium is a plase
where everyone irrespective of age or sex can enjoy much.
If some asked me, I'd prefer
The Chura-Umi Aquarium in Okinawa that is the best in my mind.

After I went out of the aquaium,I dropped at a cafeteria.
I asked a cup of cafe la te on which surface there was a sea lion drawn. Wow !

品川の水族館に行ったら海中トンネルで眠っているエイが待ちかまえていた。
頭の先に細いのこぎりを持ち、微妙にかわいい！
まるで海中を散歩しているような海中トンネルは今やどの水族館にも見られる。

頭上で昼間から眠りこけているエイを見たのは初めてだった。　
天窓の光がまぶしく、エイでなくても少し休みたい気分にもなる。

大阪の水族館でもペンギンを堪能したが何度見ても彼らの姿は作り物としか思えない。
歩く姿、水に飛び込む姿、両手を広げた姿、どれもこれもゼンマイ仕掛けのおもちゃのようだ。

マンボウは少しお疲れモード。 不思議な姿だ。
　
イルカプールでは童心に返って楽しんだ。　
カメラをあきらめて彼らのダイナミックなパフォーマンスに歓声の連続だった。

水族館は大人でも充分楽しめる。
私の中では沖縄の美ら海水族館が一番かな。　

水族館を出てカフェ・ラ・テをオーダーしたら、アシカが描かれていた。

As the Expo which I wrote on Sep. 18's weblog
has been held till 23,so I stayed at this hotel in Shiodome.
Lots of buildings which were soaring into the skyline
were outlined against the evening sky.
Which was so beautiful but I couln't take a picture well.

汐留にあるこのホテルに泊まった。
摩天楼を突き抜けてそびえ立つビルディング群が

本当にきれいだったがあまりうまく写真に撮られなかった。。。

マレーシアからやって来た友人は会社を経営している。
